General
When will Reflow 2 be released?
While an exact date is not set, we are aiming for a final production release late summer/early fall 2025, but this may change based on testing and feedback.
What is the upgrade cost for an existing license?
Free... as in, beer! That's right, all current licenses can upgrade to Reflow 2 for no additional charges.
Will Reflow 2 be backwards compatible with Reflow 1.x?
Yes. Reflow 2 will be backwards compatible with Reflow 1.x content, and you will be able to seamlessly upgrade your existing Reflow sites to Reflow 2. In fact, both versions can be ran on the same Niagara station simultaneously. Reflow 2 will migrate 1.x projects whenever you are ready.
What are the system requirements for Reflow 2?
- Reflow 2 requires Niagara 4.10 or later
- Reflow 2 runs on most Niagara hardware, including Web Supervisors, JACE 8/9000s (or equivalent), and EDGE-10 (or equivalent) devices.
- Reflow 2 supports all modern, “evergreen”, web browsers including Chrome, Edge, FireFox, and Safari.

Does Reflow 2 support Niagara 5?
We intend to provide full support for Niagara 5 when it is available. As it is still very early, we cannot make any support commitments until we have learned more about the new Niagara platform.
Private Beta
When will the Reflow 2 private beta be available?
We are aiming for late July to release the first beta, but the target date is subject to change. We will be announcing the beta release on our mailing list and directly to users who have signed up for the beta program.
How do I request an invitation to the Reflow 2 private beta?
Visit https://niagaramodules.com/beta to request an invitation. The invite-only, private beta will be available to Reflow Partner Program members, Reflow-certified system integrators, Enterprise customers, and select NiagaraMods community members who request an invitation. Community members that do not fit the initial criteria will be put on a waitlist and may or may not be added as spots in the program fill up.
What kind of content will be included in the Reflow 2 Beta?
There will be a ton of brand new content coming with the launch of the Reflow 2 Beta, including Projects, Internationalization, the Block Editor, File Manager, and more. Check out reflowui.com to learn more.
Core Features
Does Reflow 2 support multiple users in the Reflow Config View?
Yes. Users will be able to work on the same project as their colleagues, or on different projects at the same time. Multi-user support is built into Reflow 2 by default and there are no specific settings that must be turned on to enable it.
Does Reflow 2 support a dark color mode?
Yes. Reflow 2’s Config View and Content View both have native support for light and dark modes. All Reflow 2 themes, including the Classic theme support both modes out of the box, and color pickers now allow for both a light and dark option to be configured.
What is the Plugin system?
Reflow 2 was built from the ground up on a modular system with a plugin architecture. This system allows us to provide optional functionality that can be installed through plugins. Plugins can include new UI elements, data sources, map tiles, and more.
How do Themes work in Reflow 2?
Themes are a special type of plugin that can be added to your application. Once a theme is added to the app, it is available in every project. Themes can be assigned to specific users and/or roles. All Themes support both light and dark color modes.
Projects
What is a Reflow project?
A project contains all of the content that makes up your Reflow site. In previous versions, you were limited to just one project, but in Reflow 2, you can have as many as you need. Projects can be used to split up content by customer, site, campus, or even building – it’s up to you! Projects can be assigned to Niagara users and/or roles from within the Reflow Config View.
Can you link between projects?
Yes. We are planning to support linking to content from one Project to another.
How does the new Draft / Publish system work?
Like always, your work in Reflow is automatically saved as you build. However, this work is no longer immediately available to end-users accessing the site in the Reflow Content View.
Instead, your work is saved in the project as a draft. You then decide when end-users can see your new content by choosing to publish from the Reflow Config View. After that, you can continue working in additional drafts, making changes available to end-users the next time you publish.
What costs are associated with adding projects beyond the first?
There are no costs specifically associated with adding projects to Reflow 2. However, each device in a project will count towards the total usage of your license’s device count.
How do device counts work with multiple projects?
Device count is tied to all projects in the Reflow installation. For instance, if a site is licensed for 50 devices, and Project A uses 30 devices, Project B could be created and use up to 20 devices.
Internationalization
Are both the Reflow 2 Config View and Content View localized?
Yes. The entire Reflow 2 app supports internationalization. You will be able to deliver content multiple languages and work in the Reflow Config View in your preferred language.
Which languages will be supported at launch?
Reflow will launch with a total 19 languages supported including Arabic, Danish, German, Greek, Spanish, French, Hindi, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Ukrainian, Vietnamese, and Simplified Chinese.
Who provided the official translations for the Reflow application?
Translations are provided by a combination of humans and AI (LLMs). Our team assigns 3 levels of confidence to each language based on the following criteria:
- Level 1: AI-generated
- Level 2: Human-corrected
- Level 3: Translated by a BAS/Reflow-expert who is fluent in the language
If you would like to provide corrections or full translations, please reach out to support@niagaramodules.com and let us know.
Can I provide my own translations?
Yes. When you install a Reflow Language Extension, the localization files exist in the station file system and can be edited with your favorite text editor or localization software.
In your content, you can provide your own translations from right inside the Reflow Config View.
Is RTL supported?
RTL will not be supported in the beta period or the initial production release. However, we intend on adding support in a future version.
What if my language is not supported?
You can request support for a specific language by reaching out via our live chat by clicking the "Contact Us" button at the bottom of the page or send us an email at support@niagaramodules.com.
Training & Certification
Will there be a new technical certification to obtain?
No. Certified SIs will not be required to take an updated class to maintain their Reflow Technical Certification. We will be offering a free bridge class to all certificate-holders to get them up to speed without rehashing old material.
For new students, the course materials for technical certification will be updated to encompass Reflow 2 features.
What is the Reflow 2 “bridge” class and when will it be available?
NiagaraMods is offering a free “bridge” class to all users that have obtained a Reflow Technical Certification. This class will focus on the new features and changes in Reflow 2 compared to Reflow 1 without covering core topics that were a part of the original certification training.
We will begin offering the class near the end of our beta period shortly before the initial production release. We plan on providing the live class on at least two dates and making video recordings available for all certified users on our website.
What is the cost of the “bridge” class?
The class is free for anyone with a Reflow Technical Certification.
How do I sign up for the “bridge” class?
If you have a Reflow Technical Certification, you will receive an email from us announcing registration dates and the training dates. You will sign up for the class via our website.
